🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Share Anger Regarding Sizing Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration following a change that caused items being listed as the wrong size. This online marketplace has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
